GENERATIONS: Connecting Across Time and Place
This project is a digital archive of visitor cards from the exhibition GENERATIONS: Connecting Across Time and Place, which took place at Somerset House from 8 June — 3 July 2019.
The exhibition brought together twelve British and UK-based contemporary artists, working across a dynamic range of media from installation to photography, sculpture to video. It explored the importance of the connections we make across generations, from our closest relationships to the legacies of wider, collective histories.
GENERATIONS formed part of the Somerset House summer programme, which celebrated the rich contribution of different cultures to Britain and invited visitors to explore issues of identity, representation and perception in our society.
The exhibition was curated by students of the MA Curating the Art Museum programme at the Courtauld Institute of Art. The works were drawn from the Arts Council Collection and LUX. The project was made possible thanks to the generous support of Christian Levett.
